Sojourner Tours Women's Wellness Retreat:

Join SOJO owner Lisa for a transformative day as she shares the map she discovered during her own quest for happiness and inner peace. This isn’t a magic pill or a geographic cure—it’s a practical, insightful four-part approach to cultivating lasting fulfillment. Grounded in the understanding that lasting joy comes from within, you’ll leave with tools and inspiration to begin finding your own way through the inner landscapes that lie between you and your ability to flourish.

  1. Part One in this series explores the “sunlight zone” where impediments to flourishing are probably already visible to you or only require a snorkel and mask -once identified, you’ll explore ways to free yourself so you can shift your focus from others to yourself and begin your journey deeper within;

  2. Part Two is a scuba dive deeper into the “twilight zone” where visibility is dimmer, the objective here will be to free yourself from societal constraints like the “good girl” ideal, as well as strategies for casting off the weight of guilt that has been dragging you down (Preferred Prerequisite: Part 1);

  3. Part Three is a submarine ride into the deep, dark of the “midnight zone” to explore ideas that are holding you back and socially imposed shame that you may have felt but not brought out into the light to explore, in addition to coming up with ways to move through and beyond this layer to get to the heart of what’s holding you back from truly flourishing (Prerequisite: Part 2 or instructor’s permission);

  4. Part Four is a profound journey into the “Abyss” which is the source of all the other layers keeping you from flourishing, you’ll explore what left that emptiness within you that you’ve futilely struggled to fill and strategies for successfully filling it so you can truly flourish. (Prerequisite: Part 2 & 3 or instructor’s permission)

PART ONE in this series begins by addressing how external concerns hold us back from exploring our inner landscape and getting to the place where we are truly flourishing.

American culture often encourages women to prioritize others' needs over their own, reinforcing the idea that their worth is tied to how much they can give, care for, and nurture others. This expectation can lead to women losing touch with their own desires and boundaries, focusing more on maintaining relationships than on personal fulfillment or self-care.

Do you often find yourself putting others' needs before your own, feeling responsible for others' emotions or actions, or struggling to set boundaries that protect your own well-being? It’s time to step into your own life—free from the weight of constantly seeking validation from others or losing yourself in relationships. This retreat is designed to help you embrace independence and discover the power of healthy interdependence, where you can cultivate meaningful connections without sacrificing your sense of self.

During this transformative day, we’ll explore how to build secure attachment with yourself and others, so you’ll leave knowing what relationship skills and tools you can seek out or study following the retreat on your own to nurture relationships that are grounded in mutual respect, trust, and emotional well-being. During the workshop, you’ll hear about some approaches that could help you release patterns of over-giving, rescuing, or feeling responsible for others’ happiness, and instead step into a more authentic, empowered way of living life for yourself!

By the end of the day, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what it means to live your own life with confidence, while also building relationships that feel nurturing, empowering, and secure. You’ll leave with leads for relationship tools that you could master to help you maintain your autonomy while creating healthy, supportive bonds with others.

DISCUSSION Reclaiming Your Life—Cultivating Independence and Healthy Connection Explore the concept of healthy interdependence—how to build connections that support both your personal growth and the growth of others. Learn how to strike a balance between independence and togetherness, so you can nurture relationships that feel fulfilling, empowering, and grounded in mutual respect.

GROUP SHARING & PERSONAL REFLECTION: Share your experiences with like-minded women as we discuss the frustrations or struggles that are distracting us from focusing on our own needs and desires. (NOTE: A warm sisterhood atmosphere of empathy, support and healthy venting will be fostered by the moderator by steering shares away from "trauma dumps”.) Following the group conversation, there will be activities to help you gain insight into your own relational patterns and identify tools and skills you could learn to help create the balanced, healthy connections you desire.
